City officials in Hillsboro will lead their second public forum of the summer Wednesday to discuss options for building a new municipal pool.
A majority of 30 residents who attended a similar forum June 25 voiced support for building a new pool rather than repairing the city’s 63-year-old one in Woodland Park.
Terry Sando, Hillsboro’s mayor, said next week’s forum will help city leaders gather additional public input and share cost estimates for a pool.
“As we started looking at this project, it is getting to be a more expensive endeavor than we thought,” Sando said Tuesday.
“It may be time we stepped back a little and looked at a phased-in approach.”
