A downtown business owner has proposed a fundraiser that could line Hillsboro streets with U.S. flags on a half-dozen holidays starting in 2020.
Paul Geray of Paul’s Hometown Repair proposed the fundraiser Wednesday during the Hillsboro Business Association’s monthly meeting at the Hillsboro Cafe.
Pointing to a similar project spearheaded by the Boy Scouts in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Geray asked for HBA’s support with the flag-waving affair.
Although still in the planning stages, the project would charge homeowners $35 to have flags placed in their yards by volunteers on a half-dozen days each year.
