Keeping the faith alive: Bauer replaces Emery at United Parish

Pastor Tim Bauer’s approach to ministry is admittedly more blue-collar than white.
In fact, the new leader at Hillsboro’s United Parish Church claims he doesn’t even own a white clerical collar.
What started as a church janitorial job has turned into a nearly 40-year career of spreading the gospel to those in need.
“I’ve never felt that being a pastor vocationally was something I aspired to do,” Bauer says. “What I’ve enjoyed is the opportunity to do lots of different things and still be a pastor.”
